Impact

The UK Cooperative Extension Service makes a difference through research, education and outreach. Our extension specialists are experts in their fields who conduct important research to improve the lives of Kentuckians. Our county agents communicate our findings throughout the state and provide practical education in every county.

We Are...

Strengthening farms, food systems and natural resources

We provide informal education in agricultural production, environmental stewardship and horticulture practices. Whether you are a commercial-scale farmer, a backyard gardener, an avid outdoor-person or anything in between, our experts can help you grow your food, understand the food system and protect the environment.

Building the health and well-being of Kentuckians

We are committed to improving the quality of life for individuals and families in Kentucky. We can help with making healthy lifestyle choices, nurturing families, embracing life as you age, securing financial stability, promoting healthy homes and communities, accessing nutritious food and empowering local leaders.

Engaging communities

We connect our resources with Kentucky communities to revitalize downtowns, support local arts and improve community design. Our work includes economic development and workforce preparation; leadership development, civic engagement and community pride; community health; arts; and substance use and mental health.
